✕Henry and Lisa Lovejoy have been on a mission since 1999 to source sustainable seafood and make it available to consumers nationwide. Having pioneered the sustainable seafood category in 1999 as EcoFish’s founders, today their award-winning canned and frozen seafood is available in 5,000 grocery stores nationwide.
EcoFish has two brands, Henry & Lisa's Natural Seafood and Freshe. 100% of EcoFish's products are certified sustainable, all-natural, and always of premium quality. They hold the honor of being the first Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certified seafood company in the US (certified 2001) and are Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) certified and Friend of the Sea (FOS) certified as well. In addition, they have had a novel Seafood Advisory Board in place since inception, comprised of some of the world’s leading marine conservation scientists, from organizations like Environmental Defense and the Ocean Conservancy, who vet all the seafood they sell for sustainability.
In 2006, EcoFish won the first ever Seafood Champion Award from the marine conservation community “for personal and professional commitment to sustainability and leadership in advancing the marketplace for ocean-friendly seafood." At the end of the day, nothing is more important to them than assuring healthy marine ecosystems and plentiful fish stocks for the future.
Henry & Lisa travel the world in search of the highest quality sustainable seafood. The sustainability of fishing communities is also of the utmost importance to them. They are proud that all of their seafood is processed where it’s caught, especially in a world where competitors are increasingly shipping seafood around the world chasing cheaper labor, at great expense to the environment. Since 1999, Henry & Lisa have developed wonderful working relationships with fishermen and family owned processors from Alaska, to the Pacific Northwest, Ecuador and Portugal.
To achieve the highest quality possible, Henry & Lisa's Natural Seafood canned seafood is cooked only once in the can at the local micro-cannery where it's caught, preserving the vital omega-3 rich oils. Their frozen seafood is quick frozen the day its caught, locking in peak freshness and preserving quality. They offer delicious frozen products like Wild Alaskan Salmon Burgers and Fish Nuggets, Alaskan Salmon Portions and Organic Shrimp. The gourmet quality canned lineup features Sashimi Grade Albacore Tuna Loin, Alaskan Salmon and European Sardines.
Freshe's meals are ready-to-eat globally inspired small meals in an easy open tin, with simple ingredients, vibrant superfoods and certified sustainable protein, infused with savory herbs & spices. Crafted in time-honored style in Portugal with renewable energy.
Henry & Lisa care deeply for the future of our planet and the world of water. From how they source their seafood, to the renewable energy that powers their office, to the many marine conservation causes they support, customers will know that their purchases help further their business' mission.
